A brutal European invasion

North Americans rejoice because a new label launched this year bringing you the latest in European horror (as well as the odd North American cult flick too).

Founded by Cult Epics head honcho Nico B alongside film producer Steve Aquilina (VIOLENT SHIT series) back in August 2016 the new label launched with a strong opening offering of the Italian reimagining of VIOLENT SHIT by director Luigi Pastore, the first English friendly release of German giallo MASKS by director and designer of many metal album covers Andreas Marschall (TEARS OF KALI) and finally the return of Luigi Cozzi with his meta-horror BLOOD ON MELIES’ MOON.

Since this initial announcement the label have now released the brutal German horror THE CURSE OF DOCTOR WOLFENSTEIN which synoptically sounds like an alternative take to Fulci’s HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY and has met with generally positive reviews in the scene.

In an age which is fast becoming a golden period for cult film fans of the 1970’s and 1980’s as more and more gems get the HD treatment it is easy to overlook the contemporary European scene that is slowly growing once again.

After the French extreme new-wave of the early 2000’s and a brief flurry of Spanish horror shortly after the continent seemed to suffer a drought once again with only sporadic releases making it across to the English language audiences (and even less gaining any semblance of marketing) and so it exciting to see a label bringing (so far) German and Italian releases to the mainstream once again.
